Testimonial of Ex-Sahaj Marg(tm) Disciple

Taken and translated from an article: "Témoignage: Patricia a dit:", on Elodie's blog in Europe: Pour Que Vive Le Sahaj Marg

Here is the testimonial left by Patricia on Alexis' blog this summer and comments by two as-indignant anonymous posters.

Hello.

It has been several years since I left Sahaj Marg after 5 years of practice, more and less devoted (travel to India, marriage ... by the Master).

Today I am happy and free, but I feel a duty to post this small testimonial. What saved me was my 'self control'. I had trouble abandoning myself as a general rule. I could not be 'absorbed' in
the sittings and I saw what was happening around.

I saw these people (most of the time women) who seemed to be completely lost, and that, after many years of practice! The motto of the meditation is still to open the conscience. I saw just the opposite! And it scared me, I did not want to later become like them! I saw around me some real zombies ...

Second thing that scared me: meditation on the heart. The heart is a fragile organ, and it is not good to 'work' directly on it. (In general, the pericardium is used to act on the heart). After a few months of diligent practice I started having chest pains. We were told: those are the samskaras (dirt) coming out, one must continue. But the pain persisted. Long after the final ending of the meditation on the heart, the pain remained as a bad memory.

For me, Sahaj Marg is dangerous for those who are frail, not very stable and alone! It creates a Utopia of a life in a large loving family with the benevolence of the guru, a safe and carefree life.

The Master demands sacrifice for 'the Mission' in counter-part but this is nothing compared to what he gives us ... I wonder how I could have been blind for a good 5 years. With some luck, I came out of it(!) Without much impact.

P.S. I just add that my marriage by the Master was a complete fiasco much as many couples, married in euphoric crowds in India but who have no future outside of this Utopia.

my sister fell into this (and has been in it) for 10 years. She is withering, becoming extinct, has renounced all femininity and just left for the ashram in Denmark. She said, "I go to work for them." She is subject to them mentallly and physically. What to do?

Hello Patricia,

Thank you for your comment.
Could you give me your email address because I want to get a friend out of this organization. She has become a real zombie as you say and many of us are very concerned about it.

I would like very much to be able to discuss with you.

It's really funny how you are spending so much time maintaining this, thinking that you can drive people away from our system, and yes, you are succeeding to some extent from what I can gather from the popularity of this blog. No surprise you are retired probably with too much spare time.

You don't like our practices? You think that our Master is a fraud? You think that we are blindly following Him? OK. Keep thinking that. You have made some observations, run the numbers and come to conclusions based on them. It is not for everyone, we take pride in that. We know that not everyone deserves to believe in what we believe. We are exclusive, not by choice, we don't stop anyone from joining or defaming us; but by destiny, because we are here, we are happy than most of you are with your lives. That is why you will never see an advertisement of SRCM, or a show on Aastha channel or people distributing pamphlets about what we do. The answers is easy, if you are meant to be, you will be an Abhyasi. People will always ridicule, we have grown used to the strange looks that we get when we sit silently for a few minutes at 9 pm even while travelling in a train or waking up early on Sundays for our gatherings while others are recovering from a Saturday hangover.

But don't you dare write about the school. I saw this post a few years back, and I didn't bother to comment.

But now that our children are out in the world, and already making huge impact every where they go, I just thought you should know about it. It is starting. You will read about Omega's children in the papers and magazines. There is no stopping them. How can I say that? Because I have seen the students of Omega, and then I see the students at the college I teach in. You can see the remarkable difference. You can see the respect for elders in their eyes when they talk. You can see the modesty in the way they talk about their achievements. They are excelling with their academics, they are already becoming successful entrepreneurs, they are winning people over with their personality, because they have spent the last few crucial years of their schooling in an environment that has filtered the world for them and given them the best.

Its 2013 right now. I can safely say that by 2015, there would be a lot of distinguished alumni from Omega, who would have formed a bright future for themselves, thanks to their school.

Bookmark this page so that when that day comes, remember this comment, realise how wrong you were about our school, about VBSE. Just be alone for a while, look yourself in the mirror and admit to yourself you were wrong. No one will know.

Hi anonymous...

I went to a Roman Catholic School and I feel I have become successful, not by "materialist" standards but by "spiritual" (not SPIRITUALISM like Sahaj Marg(tm) OR by Religious) standards.

I say this because it was in spite of religion that I am content and happy with my life, not "because" of it. All the fantasies the Catholic teachers and priests tried to "brainwash" into my brain, I had to remove later as I became an adult.

I will not swallow the fantasy and "spiritualism" which is Sahaj Marg(tm) and will warn the next generations about believing in it as I do with the material myths of Santa Clause, the Easter Bunny, the tooth fairy, and other such myths (ie: the talking snake in the garden of Eden, Satan, etc...) ... Myths have their place in our life but it is not in our touching of REALITY!! Myths are for FUN and PLEASURE (and for business... to sell stuff) !!

I don't try and stop people from belonging to any group but I give the signs of warning just in case some become "fanatically" involved and start thinking they are "special" ... We as Catholics were also told that we were SPECIAL but we all know now that it was and is still a LIE, just like your claim of "special-ness" is ... That type of arrogance and megalomania is not healthy for society and for the individual involved ... But they will correct it in their future life and they will realize that ALL are "special" and not only "humans" but even the blade of grass!!

You should give the technology some credit for the material success of your students ... Chari was a Mill Manager, a "Plastics" CEO for TTK... that is of the MATERIAL and that he stole (re-registered the same name in California-1997) the society from the family of Babuji does not show the world the values some of us don't want to pass on to our children ... Material Power is not that important to those who truly want to be "spiritual" ...

Your children will grow up, just like we did, "in spite of religion", not because of it!! Society carried on in spite of religion and its many wars, not because of IT!!

Religions, myths, and fantasies from the past will be dealt with by the future ... look at the old religions of Greece, Rome, India, etc... They end in the dust-bin of history!!

So will Religions of today and specially "spiritualism" (Mediums, whispers, spirits, egregores, etc...) which does not attract very many, even today ... The world is more intelligent than you seem to think.

It's simply not TRUE!! Its a fantasy!! (the Brighter World, and the Central Region, Heaven, etc..) It's simply not TRUE!... It's an "invention" and will be rejected in time and will be left behind like other myths !!

So Funny?

Shri Ram Chandra Mission and Chari are not really "funny", the world you want to impose on us is not at all "funny" to me. So let us say we disagree with your view of the world and the way you live.

Chari has unfortunately managed to develop LMOIS school in spite of us, so our opinion is of little weight. The LMOIS is absolutely not "funny". As Babuji banned meditation before the age of 18, Chari did not find better than to separate the parents and the children to format the young minds like good little soldiers.

Nothing can stop the "children of Omega"? The difference is remarkable, you say. They are successful entrepreneurs? Well well, now that's very spiritual ...

Canadian Ashram: where are we?

Chari congratulated the North American abhyasis on August 2 for purchasing a meditation center in Toronto. In practice, it is not quite there yet. For now, a sales agreement was signed between the owner and the Canadian Mission.

First step towards the acquisition. Remains to collect enough donations to meet the final purchase and complete the process of zoning variance (the zoning variance process). Chari is wishful thinking. One way to increase the pressure on the Canadians ...

What is this mania, this shopping spree that has gripped Chari and has been transmitted to the abhyasis? Is it the desire to leave an indelible mark on the material of time? When the mission is gone, the only thing remaining will be the smoking ruins of ashrams, hard-earned by the blood and sweat of the poor followers ...

Hi anonymous...

There is a Family Court judge who has a show on Canadian TV who deals with many suspect "occupations" given by divorcing couples, one is the "consultant" (of any kind)... When one can't "do", then one teaches (or tells others how to "do") or "CONSULTS".

...and then he added: "When someone calls himself (or herself) an "entrepreneur", that usually means: a "LOSER"

I would add: "wheeler dealer" or "SCAMMER"!!

So dream on ... try, like a "SPIRITUALIST", to con your way into "the Brighter World" by cutting corners on Raja Yoga (starting at step #7 of Patanjali's eightfold system), lying about your "Masters" (the Naqshbandiya Sufi Master: Lalaji??), or profiteering as the "middle man", or buying "real estate" as a "privately-owned FOUNDATION" and having it (the mortgage) paid by the "poor naive" and gullible milk-cows (the peasants class milked by the Brahmins)... And you call that "charity"... for the Wealthy??

Hi Don, its true. but you cant deny there is spirituality. and one can come out of this birth and death circle. but how a true spiritual seeker can continue with his spiritual journey? how he can know that he is in the right path? is it good to have a master or go without a master

4d-Don said...

Hi Raghu...

Is it not Babuji who used to say that it is better to have no Master than to have a "BAD" Master?? So then, the question is: "What is a "bad" Master?" Is it not one who is more into the Material (or the MIND), than into the "spirit". Spirituality and Spiritualism are not the same thing. (see the definitions for both words on Wikipedia)

Realizing Spirit as a "rarefied" form of REALITY is what is referred to in "Spirituality" or "spiritual" teachings ...In other words, after the various states of Matter (i.e. solid, liquid, gaseous, plasma, etc... and the energies or forces (electro-magnetism, weak, strong, (some add gravity, but I don't... I see Gravity as a "geometry")
And Einstein's E=mc2 means that Energy and matter are "EQUIVALENT".

Then maybe there is "MIND" and SPIRIT as REAL and verifiable FORMS, just as REAL as Matter and Energy ...

But "Spiritualism" (the fantasy of spirits, messages from the "other world" from (anonymous) Mediums and egregores, THAT is called "spiritualism" and that is a SCAM ... It is not true ... it's a Fantasy invented by materialist who want to profiteer and then purchase "real-estate" from the disciple's contents of charitable "collection" or donation plates...

That kind of Master, no one needs unless it's someone who wants to get "fleeced" by the "bad shepherd"... that person has an "inferiority" complex, and would get better help from a psychologist or a good philosopher!!

To reach "spirit" LOOK inside and see if "SPIRIT" is inside. It is easier to find it (if it exists at all) inside, not "outside" in another person. Outside is the dwelling place of the realm of "matter", emotions, ego, etc... And one could be fooled by the appearances. Inside may be TRUE "spirit" ... and inside, there is only the material reality which makes YOU (and your thoughts) up !!

There are no "bad Masters" or Scammers "INSIDE"!! THEY ARE ALL OUTSIDE!!

Babuji used to say (not a direct or exact quote) : "If you go inside and you see my form, don't think it is really ME!"... In other words... It's your Mind making an image of "Babuji" ... It is not his "I", his "essence"!! Ie (it is simply a phantasm )

That is not Reality!! but that is "SPIRITUALISM" and not "SPIRITUALITY"

Thanks for the comment....

Happy Journey!!

Hi Raghu...

Go and do the same as the Buddha!! And unlike Sahaj Marg(tm) and their MATERIALIST "businessmen" who claim to be gurus, BE HERE NOW (in the Eternal NOW) first, then TEACH that!!

Nice chatting with you ...

Hi All,

I was ex sahaj samadhi abhyasi. I liked the concept of meditation and i also felt same was working. But some where i was having dissatisfaction. Because we all are brought up in one way. Eg praying god, doing our religious rituals. But after joining sahaj samadhi they asked me stop praying gods for next 6 months. Which raised question mark in me. Next thing is i feel meditation is in line with breathing. If our become is slow and uniform our meditation goes well other wise many a times after meditation without controlling breathing we will end up in anger, discomfort. but they told me to not to go for the breathing just do meditation. Friends i dont say sahaj is wrong but i say go experience it. If you feel it not correct for you can come out of it.

Hi anonymous...

If one tries out all (thousands) of sects, cults, religions, etc... one can end up chasing the devil and becoming spiritually fractured, rather than going to ONE-ness ...

When a group is so attracted to the material and to SPIRITUALISM (messages from the DEAD), then one can assume a low level of spirituality... See how they live... see how many court cases are filed against them ... by members of the Ram Chandra and the old preceptors and prefects...

Ask the old abhyasis who have left this group...

You don't have to join every such group to find "ONE"...

Hi All
I was with Sahaj marg for 2 years and my recommendation is to question them and clearly understand the process before jumping into it. Beware that you'll be experimenting with your mind and there are high chances of failure. Cleaning is a process that involves removing your past life Karma which sometimes turns out to be dangerous until and unless you have a very stable and strong mind. They admit everyone to the system not evaluating the status of a person's mind. I know of many people who had to be admitted in hospital and had to go thro' psychiatric treatment because of the confusion created in their mind due to cleaning. Worst part is when they know that a person is mentally affected, they completely cut them off and will not allow them to re-enter ashram. This will actually aggravate the person's mental issue as they would have been so much attached to the Master and ashram. So, pl. make a complete study of it and ensure that you are mentally stable before you join. May God Bless you all.
