Tragicomedy at Sahaj Marg(tm)

Old pop song:

"First you say you do, and then you don't
Then you say you will, and then you won't
You're undecided now, so what are you going to do."

So much SPIRITUALISM (emotions, drama, mediums and messages from the "spirits of the dead" or from the dead "HIERARCHY") and not much "SPIRITUALITY" !!

LOVE (tolerate), and UNITE ... Give back what was taken!!

Tragicomedy at Sahaj Marg

I resign, I will not resign. In fact, I do not know. Do you still want me? Oh, really? Good then okay, but it is really to please you.

Even tired and sick, Chari has a sense of communication and buzz (spin?) . It's a pretty charade, beautifully staged and beautifully orchestrated, the muses of dramatic arts have been treated.

Seriously ill for four weeks, and unable to participate in the ceremonies of his own birthday, Chari convened an Extraordinary General Meeting on August 15th at Manapakkam and we were told that it would be broadcast on the internet.

Before hand, he (allegedly, according to himself) sought advice from Babuji who (allegedly) responded (or the anonymous French (lady) medium did). His question and Babuji's answer are written down, and it is Kamlesh Patel who begins to read them. Visibly very emotional, he will not finish reading it. (someone else must continue)

Chari proposes to resign, so that Kamlesh Patel will become the third president (of Chari's faction) of the Shri Ram Chandra Mission (California-1997) and the Spiritual Representative of Sahaj Marg(tm), unless the "Hierarchy" (?? Lalaji and Babuji??) asks him to stay.

In short, he requests Babuji's clear advice, who does not give it but (allegedly?) supports him, no matter what he does (Babuji allegedly calling him "great Chari") .

End of the reading of the question and answer.
Chari turns to the committee for deliberation. They call for him to stay (not to retire). And he accepts on the condition that Kamlesh Patel accepts to become the vice-president. Thunderous applause in the room.

Nothing is missing, not even the crocodile tears of Kamlesh who pretends to be surprised. Chari got what he wanted, that they beg him loud and clear despite his health problems. He is really "much too much" into emotional blackmail.

Very nice article
Nobody took my bet! I was betting he would retire. But I suppose I would have lost, as he is still the acting president. Great turn of events, though, say you will retire, get begged to stay, then reluctantly agree. How relieved we all are!
I agree, this plays much too strongly on the emotional strings.
People, do some research, it's highly questionable the 'great Chari' should even be in that position. This website has links to sites describing the questionable circumstances surrounding Babujis death and charis ascent to power, including copies of the forged nomination letter.

Hi anonymous...

Yes this also confirms the "spiritualism" of Sahaj Marg(tm), living according to messages from the "brighter world" which don't come...

The message they say came from Babuji (the "whispering hierarchy" of one) was: "Do whatever you will..."

And where is the "anonymous french lady Medium" in all this??

She and Babuji are being pushed to the background in favour of the "great Chari"...

What a SCAM!! A spiritualist SCAM...

Where are the "ghostbusters" or Harry Houdini to DEBUNK all of this "messages from the "other world"??

Thanks for your comments... You would have lost your bet... but I would not have won anything as I did not bet at all ... lol lol

With this gang of businessmen, one never knows what they will do next.

MONEY talks louder than SPIRITS...

Thanks. This was hilarious. 'Days of our Lives' has nothin' on the close-up histrionics of this Z-grade show!

Hi Anonymous ...

It would be funnier if no one was getting hurt by this "intolerant", un-loving, materialist, spiritualist gang of megalomaniacal businessmen. But some are.

Chari's statements about our brothers and sisters who are naturally born as homosexuals is not an example of "LOVE", UNITY or Tolerance. Some of our brothers and sisters (the real ones) do get beaten up by some of the lunatic fringe of such spiritualist "cults of personality" who pass themselves off as new "RELIGIONS" or "SPIRITUAL-ity".

The Gay and Lesbian community in Canada has requested that all societal leaders make statements of tolerance about homosexuality, and about "our real families". But Chari has not done so. He just "sneers" (in one of his speeches). On the contrary, he has fanned the flame of "hatred" and intolerance with his speeches. (see on this blog).

And we have read of Umesh's fate according to his sons: Poisonned?
(see on youtube, the statements of his family)

This religious megalomania, this "elitism of the chosen" is not without victims: broken marriages, divided families, and depressions, and even suicides.

When one begins to play with egregores (GROUP THINK (see Pitfalls of Spirituality, blog), it is at the sub-conscious level that the effect is felt. And no-one controls the morality of the egregoric "GROUP-think". It changes as new members join the group. That is why some religions have refused to invoke the "egregores" and have instead built an "angel-ology" to whom people pray for intercession. But with most religions, it is not the individual who does the "magic" intercession as with an "egregore" or a "group-think"...

Sociologists would see the same egregoric phenomenon in the actions of individuals when in a "mob", crowd, RIOT, gang, team, platoon, group, etc... It depends on the lowest common denominator how anyone involved in a riot will act. And most can't believe what they did when in a "crowd"... things they would not do when alone.

Chari has built an "EGREGORE" (he claims that Babuji told him to) and has asked the abhyasis to pray for a "favourable egregore" ... and that means: Protect the 3M's (Master, Mission, Method) at all costs. As with the "WHISPERS" credited to Babuji by Chari and his anonymous "medium", all are left to decide what that means. As with organized crime, some "psychiatrically" challenged will please the "BOSS" in very deviant ways ... (ie. the MAFIA)

Who is responsible in Sahaj Marg(tm) for the actions of the egregore?

Dear 4d and Elodie,

I am sad, so very, very sad.

I've descended from the trees of the Spirit Forest to see what the commotion is, only to witness this small band of invaders, noisily spouting imaginary words of dead people, leading their masses on a garden path to nowhere.

Dead people do not call the living "Great" - Because they are dead! They live as spirit in all of us and are incapable such blatant, foolish compliments!

In real Nature, where all Paths are Natural, living Spirit Beings ignore such vague messages channeled from the dead. They instead prefer to thrive on the living spirit world around them which is full of wisdom and life.

Sad, so sad... So many Souls, willing to follow the withered echoes of those long since dead and silent, when they can embrace the living and breathing Spirit that thrives in their very presence and guides them from within their very own hearts!

I am concerned for these brothers and sisters who chatter in the forest floor below me - Exposed to such drama and misguidance. May the perpetrators of this misguidance find reconciliation and forgiveness for their behavior so that they not live their final days in sadness and regrets.

The real Natural Path is not this! It lives and breathes within us all. The wonders of the Natural Spirit Forest are vast and infinite. There is no end, No brighter resting place. Any "Brighter World" that might exist can be found HERE AND NOW, and is not some elusive and un-achievable goal! There is no need to rest on the true Infinite Natural Path as the Path itself sustains us.

With tears in my monkey eyes, I return to the tree tops, where the wind through the leaves drown out this noisy chatter. I dare not descend again any time soon for fear of what I might see or hear. I prefer the sounds where Nature pervades. I prefer the true Natural Path, in all its glory, which lies before us as an infinite expanse, never ending!

Best Wishes and Blessings to All. May those who've wandered so far down this garden path, AND those who led them there, find their way home.

Love,

Monkey Man

OMG - What an embarrassing show they put on! It's hard to believe I was under their spell at one time. You call them business men...to me they look like indian mafia. Feel sorry for the innocent people who get mixed up in this scam.

Hi Triple Gem...

Yes, the average person who gets scammed by "con (confidence) men" are embarassed and find it "hard to believe", and many will not even admit to having been taken in, even when asked to "testify" or to witness ...

I once interviewed a "short-change artist" who would walk into a store or a shop with a $20.00 and walk out with $40.00, less the amount of his small purchase. He also had a back-up man who would distract and put pressure on the clerk by asking him questions, saying he was in a hurry to catch the bus or a taxi etc ... The "con man" told me that the important thing was for him (the point man) to get out of the store because once outside, the clerk would never chase him or even if the clerk later phoned the police, he would not testify accurately, or even identify him correctly (he would always refer to the con-man as a "tall man" or of above average weight. ... the average person is too embarassed of having been taken in, specially by a small or under-average built man, he claimed ... He would always wear a suit for the same reason. Most will trust a man in a suit more than a "blue shirt" labourer.

Con-men are actors (charmers) and dress to "influence" the "mark" or the "audience" ... notice Chari's "guru" attire.

Let us hope that the true seeker will see through this shallow "SPIRITUALIST" scam and will give their friends, neighbours and fellow "CITIZENS" (their true "brothers and sisters" and family) a "heads up" ...

Let us also hope that many will stop funding this spiritualism scam by not purchasing their "BOOKS" or going on so many pilgrimmages to India.

I was a fervent "CATHOLIC" but I never once went to Jerusalem or to Rome to see the POPE or "the Vatican".

We always thought it was better to help the poor with the little money we had, instead of the narcissism of serving and titilating the self as a "religious tourist" ...

Thanks for you comment...

SRCM does not even respect the summer break! Chari does not weaken ... he is too strong to make the news. Elodie thank you for having provided the summer watch ...

This beautiful "tragicomedy" that we were played reveals the domination of the cult of the personality in the Mission.

Let me explain: Chari said he should resign because he is too sick, Patel can replace him both as President and as spiritual representative because he was prepared for it and he is ready.

When Chari asked Babuji and/or his medium girlfriend, the answer was almost the same. So everything would have happened naturally: Sahaj marg would choose a new master and Chari could take a well-deserved retirement! End of story ...

Except that here, Chari is a man, and so are the abhyasis, so it was not so simple. Chari loves power, so he then casts uncertainty over his resignation and he asks for input from his President's Committee, who returns the call and the message he wants to hear: "Stay!"

This "tragicomedy" performed live on the web on August 15th shows to what point it is not spirituality which has guided Chari that day, but his great thirst for power over people, for domination and recognition.

When the human condition holds Chari, it will not let go!
As for spirituality that day, there was not an ounce of it ...

Jesus Christ! This is like the gift that keeps on giving. I agree, many people were under the spell of this organization at one time, but it is pretty amazing that things have gone downhill so fast, so rapidly, that one has no choice but to be rudely awakened to what is happening.

There seems to be a focus less on love and tolerance, and more on power, i.e who is the President, who is the Vice President, who is the successor, etc. I watched in disbelief at the goings on, and it was nothing but a power play. Who knows what the internal mechanisms are but they need to work on their PR if they're going to attract reasonably sane people. Very saddening.

As for gay and lesbian rights, lets not even go there. There are none within this framework. I think we can all accept that sad fact. The even sadder part is that many intelligent, forward thinking people I've known have since left the Mission, leaving behind just the ones who love reading 'Whispers'. What that says about their mental condition is something else. Fantastical rantings of a deluded mind more like. Do people really believe Whispers are channeled from the 'other side' to a mysterious French woman who then transcribes it, and then passes it on to us?? Are we living in this century or are we witnessing sci fi at its worst?

I too had been taken in by this scam, Triple Gem. What a relief to have found the way out, but sites like this one have helped considerably. It is true that people do not want to admit that they have been duped. If you are one of them, try to put more faith in yourself, where it belongs. The trick with this group is that the good attributes you have and your own natural sense of power and connectedness are given away to someone else, a man in a guru outfit. Eventually you forget that they are your own, although you've had them all along. So taking them back is really quite a simple thing, it just takes a little practice. You're used to giving your power away.

(In my experience, it was a little bit difficult taking it back at first, because I had grown to believe that having my own power and joy was kind of a "bad" thing, that would create "samskaras.")

As for monkey mans comment, Thank you, beautiful and insightful. Enjoy the breeze up there!

Hi Anonymous...

To your question: "Do people really believe Whispers ..."

Many who believe that there was more "knowledge" available to humans in the past and that this knowledge, being ETERNAL, does not change, also believe in the ability to access that "knowledge" with the assistance of "spirits", (Saviours, adepts, enlightened beings, gurus, the chosen, angels, etc... including a new race of humans, (indigo children?)) of humans who either lived in the past or are from elsewhere... from "another planet or from another "dimension"...

Many women, if given the choice, would prefer to live in a "past era" than in a future era, or the present. They often refer to the past as "more romantic" ...

Go figure!! I would not want my futurist "techie" sons, grand-sons, and/or grand-daughters to think that way. Yet I would want them to see (or search for) some values inside themselves which are more than "materialistic or self-serving" ... Values which could assist in our species' journey from "simple consciousness" (animal), to "self-counsciousness" (human) and to "Universal or "Cosmic" consciousness... what I call the consciousness of ALL being ONE ... or the ONE-ness of ALL !!

Thanks to all for the comments ...

Don
